ROUGH NIGHT actor Andrew Sullivan was reportedly targeted by a man claiming to be a former member of the National Alliance, a white supremacist group, after the controversial rape culture video he starred in was released.
The video, which was shot by actor Zach Braff, features a series of clips of Braff raping young women, and a clip of Sullivan asking the young women not to be afraid to speak up if they felt uncomfortable.
Braff is an anti-racism activist who has made anti-Semitic statements and made homophobic comments on social media, but Sullivan’s recent involvement in the Rape Culture video was particularly concerning to the National ADL, according to a letter from the group sent to Braff.
The letter also alleged that Braff had recently received death threats from the National National ADI.
“We have no choice but to act on the threat that you may have received,” the letter read.
“The threats and violence directed against Andrew Sullivan and his family are completely unacceptable and we must take swift action to ensure that Andrew and his daughter are protected from these acts of hatred and hate speech.”
The letter goes on to say that the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and the National Action Network are also calling on the actor to remove his work from the internet.
The National ADLI has said it is also “deeply concerned” by the threats and has contacted the U.S. Attorney’s Office for North Carolina and the U!
Sullivan’s mother told CNN that the threats were “deepest, most disturbing” and that her son is “absolutely terrified” by what’s happening.
“It’s the worst,” Katie Sullivan said.
“He’s scared, he’s nervous, he doesn’t know what to do.”
Sullivan’s parents say that they are “still not quite sure” what they want to do about the threats, but they want him to take immediate action and move forward with the production of the upcoming film.
The father of the two-time Oscar winner, Sullivan, told CNN’s Jim Acosta on Sunday that the situation has become so dire that he wants his son to “move away from the production and not talk about this at all.”
“He is my son and I love him, I care about him, but I don’t want him involved in this,” Katie said.
Andrew Sullivan told CNN in a statement on Sunday, “I am so sickened by this vile and hateful attack on my son.
I am working with local law enforcement to get Andrew arrested and to prevent further incidents from happening.
I will not be silent on this, I will do everything I can to defend my son.”
The National Alliance is a white supremacy group that is responsible for racist and violent hate crimes against blacks, Latinos, and other minorities.
According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, the group was founded in 1983.
The organization’s website is currently under review by the Anti-Defamation League.
According, Braff’s video was shot at the National Student Union (NSU), an offshoot of the white supremacist Student Union League.
In a statement to CNN, the NSU said that it was “deepened” by Braff and that the organization “continues to support Andrew and the NSVL.”
“We do not condone the actions of any member of NSU,” the statement read.
BraFF’s production company, BraFF Entertainment, is based in New York.
“I don’t condone the hateful and offensive comments made in his video, and the people involved in it,” Braff said in a recent interview.
“However, it’s not the way I like to be treated.
I want to be protected and I’m trying to do what I can.”
