Posted May 01, 2018 08:06:38TENNESSEE STATE UNIVERSITY is on track to become the world’s most selective university, according to a survey released on Tuesday, as the state’s top 10 ranked in a number of academic areas.
University of Tasmania, which has a population of less than 100,000, is the only other university ranked higher than Tasmania’s highest-ranked.
“Tasmania is a top performer in the world for higher education, and it is also ranked highly in all the important measures,” Professor Brian McNeill, president of the University of Tasmania’s Board of Governors, said in a statement.
“The University of Tennessee has been one of the top performing universities in the US for decades and is one of only a handful of universities in this country that is ranked highly by all four of the world rankings of research performance, and the World University Rankings.”

“Tasmanian students will have a choice of the state-of-the-art, state-class university, the prestigious and nationally renowned University of Texas at Austin, or the prestigious University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg.
Taslansmane University is ranked in the bottom third of the universities in all four major academic disciplines, with the University in Pretoria in second and the University at Wits in third.”
