The death of a 19-year-old student at a University of Mississippi school has been ruled a homicide.
The Jefferson Parish Coroner’s Office ruled the death a suicide, citing a toxicology report that indicated the student took an opioid overdose on Monday, The Clarion-Ledger reports.
The student was a sophomore at the University of Mississippi at Devry University.
A funeral for the student is scheduled for Wednesday.
A student who was in the class where the student died posted on Twitter that he was “not sure what happened but I am here to help anyone who may need to know what happened.
It is my hope that everyone can find solace in knowing the true extent of what happened to my son.”
